Fitness Boot Camp

Fitness Boot camps have been gaining steadily in popularity over the last few years.  You see them popping Sometimes we do pushups...up in health clubs and community recreation centers all over the St. Louis and St. Charles Metropolitan area. Why?  Because participants like getting their workout in early.  Our boot camp is at 5:45 a.m. (as in the early morning).  For most that is the best time to get in a workout and still have time to get ready for work.  Also, it is a wonderful feeling when you do fitness training outdoors.  Last year's boot camps, after it became warm enough, were in Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon.  And, we were in the park - rain or shine.  This year we will be holding at least some of our sessions at Boulevard Park in Lake St. Louis.  Another factor contributing to the popularity of fitness boot camps is that they are able to delve more deeply into functional kinds of fitness skills.  Real world activities like running, leaping, and carrying things are what the military train to do because that mimics some of their activities on the battlefield and so will increase their chances of survival.  Those very same kinds of activities also are some of the best ways to train you in terms of cardio-vascular fitness, Other times we do stomach crunches!strength, agility, and endurance. 

Fitness Boot Camp at Blue Wave is led by Master David Blevins.   A fitness and martial art professional who has actually trained members of the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force and Secret Service.  And, even though you might not be in the military it is nice to know we at Blue Wave have the expertise you are looking for.  What do you mean you're not a soldier?  Fitness is WAR!  Train to WIN!

At our Fitness Boot Camp you don't need to wear boots.  While the weather is cold you will need some indoor aerobics or cross training shoes.  When it gets warm enough then break out your running shoes!  This class is designed for both men and women of all fitness levels.  But, whatever your level, you should be prepared to be challenged.  Some short running, hills, groundwork, tires, medicine balls, and other interesting surprises are featured in every class.  Be assured - no two classes are ever the same except for being a blast.  Fitness Run on over and get registered for Boot CampBoot Camp will definitely jump start your day and get your metabolism cooking so you can burn calories all day long.  We always begin with an easy warmup and progress through the hour to a fairly strenuous level then a cooldown and stretch.  Classes range in size from 15 to 30 so you'll enjoy the comaraderie of of others without it being too crowded.  And, while the work can sure be tough, the mood is always upbeat (sometimes even funny with some of our drills).  There is definitely no better way to begin your day.  For more info check out the FAQ section about Fitness Boot Camp.  Come on, get up a few minutes earlier and join us for Fitness Boot Camp!
